Presenters
Maria Spinu
Description
Maria Spinu, Ph.D., an innovative researcher for DuPont and an active member of the Building Science community, will discuss the main moisture sources in buildings, as well as the common materials used to protect against moisture intrusion. New material are required for optimum performance of the building enclosure, such as air, water and vapor barriers for air leakage control and moisture management. This presentation will focus on the later materials, which are critical for the building envelope durability, safety and comfort of the occupants and sustainable building performance. Air Barriers are vital building envelop components that control the unplanned air leakage and contribute to moisture management.
