2019 - 2020 Membership

September 2019

Dear Portland BEC Members,

Thanks to everyone who made last season a great success; we hope that all of our members have enjoyed the summer. We now look forward to our kick-off meeting on Tuesday, September 10th, extending through the year to our Technology Symposium in June 2020. We have a fall lineup of monthly topics that will touch on subjects such as mass timber design, masonry durability, glazing renovations, and mitigating moisture intrusion through the envelope.

Last year, we invited speakers from different parts of the country to bring a variety of research and commentary related to the building enclosure. We are excited to continue that trend by mixing in local speakers with experts from other regions as well. Our previous Symposium in 2018 received positive reception due to the hard work of our volunteer board and education committee. We expect that our upcoming event will offer the same high level of information and education.

Our meetings will once again be held at the Mercy Corps building, and most topics offer continuing education credit. We welcome any members who would like to participate on our Education Committee to help shape the topics and presentations. Those that are interested can discuss participation further with any of our board members or education committee members at our monthly education meetings.

Portland BEC is a Non-Profit organization and we are officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the IRS. The organization relies on your membership dues to pay for its operational costs such as room rental, insurance and expenses for out-of-state speakers. Please take the time to pay your membership dues. We are very thankful for your continued support and participation.
